The criminal case and the DMV case are not the same fight.
A DUI arrest starts two clocks. One is in court. The other is at the Department of Motor Vehicles. Missing the DMV deadline can cost you a license even if the criminal case is still open.
Clients come to this office after a mistake, a traffic stop, or a night they cannot reconstruct clearly. The work is to defend the charge, protect the license, and keep the consequence proportional to the facts. In one matter handled by Mr. Pehlevanian, the DMV hearing was dismissed and the criminal charge was reduced to wet reckless. That result belonged to that case. It is an example of how the two tracks have to be fought together, not an advertisement that every DUI ends the same way.
What we look at
- The stop, the field sobriety tests, and the chemical test
- The 10-day (or other applicable) window to request a DMV hearing
- Prior convictions, accident facts, and any injury allegations
- Negotiations with the prosecutor and, when needed, a hearing or trial
